John Cena claims he has never taken steroids.
Born in West Newbury, Massachusetts on April 23, 1977, John Cena is currently the highest paid performer in the WWE.
Since first signing to the franchise in 2001, he has achieved 16 World Champion titles, and five U.S. Champion titles, as well as winning the World Heavyweight Championship three times.
In addition to being a professional wrestler, Cena is also an actor.
He has been starring in films that include 12 Rounds, The Marine, Trainwreck, and Sisters, along with providing the voice of the eponymous bull in the children’s film Ferdinand, premiering December 2017.
He also hosts the reality TV show American Grit.
In 2007, Cena did an interview with the CNN Special Investigations Unit, titled Death Grip: Inside Pro Wrestling.
In the interview, he was asked if he had ever taken performance-enhancing drugs. CNN’s initial cut that aired on television had Cena saying, “I can’t tell you I haven’t, and you’ll never be able to prove that I have.”
However, the following day, the WWE accused CNN of deliberately misrepresenting Cena, providing a cut of the interview shown at a different angle from their own cameras.
In the unedited version, Cena immediately answers the question of “Have you ever used steroids?” with “Absolutely not.”
Later, in 2015, on the WWE Network’s special Live! With Chris Jericho, Jericho once again asked Cena if he had used PEDs to maintain his build.
And, once again, Cena replied with, “No,” going on to mention that every event he has ever participated in has been drug tested.
Rolling Stone reported that Cena even has the results of some 60 – 70 drug tests stapled to the wall at the gym—all of which he had passed.
Instead, Cena claims that his mass is 100% natural. Focusing on volume training, Cena uses a five-day muscle building split workout to maintain his 250 pound physique.
His typical workout routine comprises the following, but does it include steroids?:
Day 1– Legs and Calves:
Day 2– Chest:
Day 3– Biceps and Triceps:
Day 4– Shoulders:
Day 5– Back:
Following each training day, Cena performs one set of 60 crunches for abs training.
Along with his strenuous workout routine, Cena also follows a strict diet plan, consisting of seven meals. These typically consist of the following:
