Stenbolone, also known as Anatrofin, was originally developed back in the 1960s mainly by German pharmaceutical companies.

Stenbolone is reputed to be similar to Anadrol in regard to its benefits and efficacy by some bodybuilders and athletes based on its molecular formula.
It was an injectable steroid also known as 7beta-Hydroxy-2-methyl-5alpha-androst-1-en-3-one.

Syntex was based in Mexico City in the mid-1940s, specializing in manufacture of “therapeutic” steroids.
In the mid-1990s, the company was absorbed by the Roche Group. The Roche Group company is most noted for developing one of the earliest forms of birth control pills in the early 1950s.
In the mid-1970s, Syntex was accused of falsifying toxicological analyses and accused of scientific misconduct by an American Product Safety testing lab (Industrial BioTest Laboratories).
At the time, pharmaceuticals and generic drug laboratories became subject to increased scrutiny in regard to the veracity of submitted reports in regard to safety data.
Stenbolone (Anatrofin) steroid benefits are believed to have provided many of the same benefits as more popular anabolic androgenic steroids at the time, but without the toxicity often associated with Anadrol (oral).

Increase production of red blood cells (erythropoiesis)– because red blood cells provide transportation of nutrients and oxygen to muscles, bodybuilders look to steroids that promote this function to enhance accelerated growth, development, and health of muscle tissues.
Increase resistance to tissue catabolism, offering bodybuilders and athletes greater retention of developed lean muscle mass.
Stenbolone Anatrofin was not as effective in providing accelerated muscle bulk as other steroids, even in an injectable form.
In regard to results, it had the reputation of generally lower androgenic and anabolic effects than even oral Anadrol.
In most cases, it would be an effective steroid for beginners or for use by women. Otherwise, it was fairly much ignored by serious bodybuilders.
Testosterone is rated as 100/100 and anabolic and androgenic properties.
When compared to testosterone, Stenbolone/Anatrofin was estimated to offer slightly less in anabolic tendencies.
It rated approximately 88 in anabolic properties and about half (estimated at about 50) of the androgenic properties associated with testosterone.
Back in the day, Stenbolone acetate had a relatively short half-life (three to four days) so injections were needed on a daily or every-other-day basis.
In oral form, Stenbolone/Anatrofin was taken daily.
Weekly dosage averaged 200 mg to 300 mg weekly basis. Some users averaged anywhere from 350 mg a week to 700 mg a week.
Women generally took half that, at 100 mg to 150 mg a week.
Both these weekly dosages were divided into three equally divided, smaller and separate injections.
Because of its molecular makeup, Stenbolone side effects might be equated to those of any form of synthetic anabolic androgenic steroid.
However, because of its relatively low anabolic and androgenic properties as compared to other types of anabolic androgenic steroids used by bodybuilders today, side effects were typically mild.
No information regarding severe or even moderate side effects are available.

Very little reliable, scientific, or documented information about the drug is available today. Most of the information on the discontinued drug formerly manufactured by Syntex is found on bodybuilding websites.
That information basically summarizes the possible anabolic and androgenic characteristics of the steroid based on its similar chemical structure and characteristics of other more modern anabolic androgenic steroids such as Primobolan.
Be wary of any underground lab marketing the “original formula”. In the past, it was known by a number of names and mainly manufactured in Latin American countries.
Because no steroid profiles on Stenbolone acetate are available today, it can be difficult to watch for copycats or counterfeited products. In such cases where a bodybuilder may find something similar, check the molecular formula if possible.
