It’s critical for getting what you need from your steroids and reducing steroid injection site soreness.
Before you start injecting steroids, you should know that it’s not the same as, say, taking an insulin shot.
For best results, there are specific points on the body that you will want to inject. Don’t start pricking yourself until you’ve learned where to inject steroids.
The challenge is that steroids are not typically injected into the vein, but into the muscles themselves. To be clear, you don’t have to inject the steroids directly into whichever muscles you most want to build.
There are six hundred and forty muscles in the human body, and a good workout plan works all of them.
If you had to inject anabolic steroids into every muscle, you’d look like you have chicken pox.

Your best bet is to look up some spot injections pictures or a steroid injection sites diagram to make sure that you’re hitting the right spots.
However, in avoiding soreness, injections may be more forgiving than you might think.
As a general rule, you want to go for the bigger and thicker muscles, and go for the big meaty parts.
Most users will go for the thighs or glutes, avoiding the more tender spots, such as the inner thigh. You can also do chest injections, but know that there are some cosmetic concerns when it comes to injections.
You may wind up with a red mark where you inject, and some of the steroid oil may leak out of the muscle tissue, causing swelling underneath the skin.
In other words, it’s a good idea to inject somewhere where you’re not going to be showing yourself off. With a steroid injection glute shot, you’re not going to need to worry about anyone judging you for using steroids.
Same goes for a steroid injection thigh shot. Of course, bodybuilding competitions are a different story, but you shouldn’t be using steroids right before a competition anyways, given the extra water weight steroids can cause.
Steroid injection sites have a lot to do with personal preference. You might experience more soreness in the chest than the average user, or you might not like sitting right down on the injection spot after a glute shot.
Steroid injection side effects can be minimized with proper administration, but there’s usually going to be at least a little bit of soreness.
Steroid injection for back pain is something you’re not going to have to worry about administering at home. These shots are usually done with an epidural, right into the spine itself.
Ouch, right? But after that one really uncomfortable shot, you get amazing back relief that all those drowsiness and addiction-causing pills can’t match.
Steroid injections for joint pains are usually administered right to the affected area, as well.
In bodybuilding, you don’t really need to worry about the “affected area.” It’s about comfort. Some spots are better than others, but you’re looking for a place where you’re not going to be experiencing too much excessive soreness.
Again, there will be some soreness, so you usually don’t want to inject right into a muscle that you’re going to be heavily working out that day.
When choosing between steroid injection sites, most users will recommend a glute shot in the upper, outer quadrant of the glute, about where you put your hands on your hips when you’ve just finished a really punishing set but you’re trying not to lean over.
As you become more advanced, you can try out different areas, but upper-outer-butt cheek is generally the least uncomfortable and most effective part of the body to inject when you’re starting out.Check out the best bulking cycles here.
Some will actually recommend against glute injections.
This is because there’s actually quite a bit of fat there.
They’re called the glutes for “gluteus maximus” after all.
It will take a little bit of experience to learn precisely how deep the needle needs to go in order to get to the muscle, but know that, once you get past the fat, you’re probably going to feel it.
Once you’ve gotten used to injecting the glutes, you can experiment with other steroid injections sites. Eventually you’ll get the hang of it and have no problem getting it right the first time, every time.
In any event, if you’d rather not worry about all that extra fat in the glutes, then the thighs are a perfect alternative.

Proper injection method is important. You’ll want to start by using the right needle, anywhere from an inch to an inch and a half will do (2.5-4 cm). A 23g-25g needle is preferred.
Draw some air into the needle equal to the injection you’re going to take, and then empty the air before drawing the oil. Make sure to remove all the air bubbles by tapping the needle while pushing the plunger, like you see in medical TV shows.
Disinfect the steroid injection site with a cotton swab with disinfectant such as rubbing alcohol, or an alcohol swab (worth investing in before a cycle).
Next you will push the needle into the muscle, and pull the syringe back to aspirate. Aspirating is the process of testing to make sure that you’ve got the right spot.
During aspiration, you’re looking for blood. If blood comes into the needle, then you’ve hit a vein, not a muscle. If no blood enters the syringe, go ahead and inject. Once you’ve injected, make sure to leave the needle in for about thirty seconds.
This will ensure that all of the oil is settled into the muscle. Let too much oil leak out and you may get a painful abscess.
From there, all that’s left is to hold a cotton ball over the steroid injection site for about half a minute, and then massage the area to ensure that the oil gets distributed into the muscle. Use safely, use wisely, practice a bit of patience and learn as you go, and you should have no problems.
